Consumer Directed Services in Hannibal, Missouri
Consumer Directed Services (CDS) is a Medicaid-based program that provides personal care attendant services to individuals with disabilities, enabling them to live independently in their own homes and communities in Hannibal, MO including Marion, Monroe, Ralls, Pike, Lewis, Shelby, Knox counties.
Participants in the CDS program are trained to hire their personal care attendants (PCA) to assist them with daily tasks. The main component of the CDS program is that the individual who receives the CDS services is the employer of the PCA. A qualified friend or family member may be hired as an attendant and receive compensation to care for their loved ones.
Qualifications to receive CDS:
- Medicaid eligible
- Over the Age of 18
- Able to direct their own care
Participants May Qualify For Some or All of The Following Services:
- Bathing
- Dressing
- Grooming
- Toileting
- Ostomy/colostomy hygiene
- Obtaining medication
- Transferring
- Range of motion
- Meal preparation/feeding/cleanup
- Housekeeping/laundry
- Errand transportation (shopping, paying bills/banking, picking up medication)
- Medical transportation
